March
2002 - Daniel Chick, Alex Froom, Nick Makins - New MINI Cooper and
            Old Mini Cooper
             The
Petrolheads 2002 tour saw us pitting the two Mini's together on the
track for the first time ever! Originally we planned to reunite 4 of
the drivers, but unfortunately Alex Bassett dropped out at the very
last minute, so we left for the track in Arras, Northern France with
Alex F and Nick in the new MINI, and Daniel taking the old Mini
single handedly down the A26 to Arras.

            The
tour started in typical fashion, with the first night spent sampling
the local nightlife to the full! Unfortunately our early start the
next day was rather hampered by this, and we ended up rolling up at
            the track at around midday!!!
            The
day went fantastically. Our Mini's were pitted against some of the
fastest cars around - TVR's, Lotus's, Impreza's, Porsches and even
the odd racing car! However we put up a very respectable
performance, even managing to lap a Porsche 911 in the new MINI (We
            promise - it's true!!!).
            Old
Mini had a few minor clutch problems during the course of the day -
so most of the driving was done in the new MINI. Tremendous fun was
had by all - we even managed to leave the track at one stage,
however Daniel's superior driving skills ensured no damage was done (yes
            - I know I was responsible for leaving the track in the first place
            - dc).
